What is Coinflip?

Coinflip is a simple yet engaging game of chance. If you're unfamiliar, here's how it works: Players place bets on either heads or tails, and then a coin is flipped. If the outcome matches your bet, you win the full pot; if not, you lose. It's that straightforward!

How does Coinflip work?

To start a game, choose your bet (heads or tails), enter your desired wager, and click "Create". Alternatively, you can join an existing game. Once both players have joined, a countdown timer will appear, starting from 3 seconds. When the timer elapses, the coin is flipped, and the winner is determined.

What are the odds of winning, and what's at stake?

Your chances of winning are an even 50/50. Each player bets the same amount, and the winner takes home the entire pot.

When will I receive my winnings?

Your winnings will be sent to you as soon as the round ends.

How the outcome is determined?

A random seed is generated, and its hashed version is stored in the smart contract before the first player joins. Once the second player joins, we await the next mined block on Alephium to obtain its hash. The hash is then combined with the seed to create a random number, which determines the outcome of a game and finalizes the round. You can find more information about this process on the Randomness page.

How do I know that outcome is not manipulated?

We've implemented a Provably Fair system so that after each game, you have all the data needed to verify that the outcome of your round is not manipulated. You can find more information about this on the Provably Fair page.

What are the fees?

Currently, there's a small fee of 3% of the pot.
